Man arrested in North arms probe

A man was arrested today by detectives investigating alleged attempts by dissident republicans to acquire arms and explosives.

The man was taken to the Serious Crime Suite in Antrim for questioning, said a Police Service of Northern Ireland spokesman.

The arrest was part of an ongoing investigation into serious crime in the Armagh area which started last summer.

Four people have already been charged with involvement in the alleged attempts by dissidents to procure arms and explosives.
