The Minister for the Environment has proposed a series of measures to tackle the Galway water crisis.
It follows Dick Roche's meeting with city, county and health officials over the bacterial contamination afflicting the area.
He has pledged to fast-track the €21m treatment plant and is to provide a further twenty seven million for increased storage and water conservation measures in Tuam to help in the longer term.
