Aontas demands more funding for adult education sector
The National Association of Adult Education is mounting a pre-election campaign to demand improved resources for people who decide to return to study.
The association, which is better known as Aontas, says more funding is needed to attract people into adult education.
Aontas wants the Government to abolish fees for higher education courses and to improver childcare facilities for participants in these courses, who currently number around 300,000.
The group also wants a national council reinstated to co-ordinate adult education across the country.
