Jury sworn in in Limerick murder trial

A jury has been sworn in for the trial of a 39-year-old Limerick man charged with the murder of a father of four outside a city pub two years ago.

A jury has been sworn in for the trial of a 39-year-old Limerick man charged with the murder of a father of four outside a city pub two years ago.

Derek McNamara, with an address at St Ita's Street, St Mary's Park, Limerick, is charged with the murder of Martin O'Donoghue at Broad Street, Limerick, on August 9th 2004.

The 35-year-old died following a stabbing incident outside a pub.

Earlier today a jury of 11 men and one woman was sworn in for the trial at the Central Criminal Court which is currently sitting in Limerick.

The trial - which is expected to last for two weeks - is due to commence tomorrow before Justice Paul Carney.
