It has emerged that the plane which crashed in Nigeria on Sunday killing 99 people, had its last maintenance check in Shannon.

The federal government of Nigera has released details of the maintenance schedule of the ADC flight number 5n-BFK which crashed Sunday minutes after take-off from the Abuja International Airport.

In all 99 people died in the crash, with just seven people surviving.

According to the details released by the Aviation Minister, Babalola Borishade, the plane had its last major ‘C’ check on July 29, 2005 at Aero Engineering in Shannon.

Since the check the plane had flown 54, 337 hours and 42, 135 circles.

It had been scheduled to undertake another check-up on January 30th, 2007 before it met its ill-fate last Sunday.

It has been confirmed by a spokesperson for Air Atlanta that the last 'C' check did take place at his facility but declined to make any further comments.
