Teen offender opts to stay in residential school

A 15-year-old Dublin boy, who started committing offences when he was aged 11, has opted to stay in a special residential school of his own accord.

The north inner city teen had been released on a probation bond by the Dublin Children’s Court in January 2005 on condition that he took up a placement in the school in Co Tipperary for one year and abided by all of the directions of its staff and took part in its educational programmes.
