Irish teenager dies in jet-ski accident in Bulgaria
A 17-year-old Irish boy has been killed in a jet-ski accident in Bulgaria while on holiday with his parents and brother.
The incident happened in the Black Sea resort of Golden Sands, which is north of Varna city.
Police in Varna have launched an investigation following the accident, which happened just after 2pm yesterday.
It is understood the boy rented a jet-ski with his 15-year-old brother on a beach near their hotel.
The tragedy happened when the jet-ski he was driving collided with another one.
The area was sealed off yesterday afternoon as forensic doctors, investigators and border police officers arrived at the scene.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed the death and said that it has offered consular assistance to the family.
