Government votes down Dáil motion calling for early election

The Government last night voted down a Dáil motion calling for an early general election which was tabled by the two main opposition parties this week.

Fine Gael and the Labour Party tabled the motion as part of a pre-summer attack on the Fianna Fáil-Progressive Democrats coalition.
