Ireland failing to live up to anti-corruption obligations
Ireland is failing to live up to its international obligations on tackling corruption, according to the latest analysis published by Transparency International.
The business group says Ireland introduced laws on foreign bribery in 2001, but no investigations have been mounted or prosecutions taken under the legislation.
It also says that little if anything has been done in Ireland to inform the public that the bribery of a foreign public official is a crime, while protections for whistle-blowers have not been strengthened.
