Off-duty British soldiers have reportedly been banned from all bars in Ballymena, in a bid to ease sectarian tensions following the murder of Michael McIlveen.

It is understood military chiefs have imposed a night-time curfew in the Co Antrim town.

The 15-year-old Catholic schoolboy was beaten by a loyalist mob, and died later in hospital.
