Man shot in head in latest gangland-style murder
Gardaí in Dublin have launched a murder inquiry following a fatal gangland-style shooting in the north of the city last night.
The victim - a man in his 20s from the north inner city - was shot in the head in an estate off St Donagh's Road in Donaghmede at around 11pm.
A shotgun is believed to have been used to carry out the killing and the assailant is understood to have fled the area on foot.
The scene at St Donagh's Green has been sealed off pending technical examination later today.
The Gardaí have appealed for information from anyone who saw a young man wearing a white tracksuit top and acting suspiciously in the area around the time of the killing.
They are also hoping to speak to a taxi driver they believe may have driven the victim to Donaghmede between 10pm and 10.50pm.
