Fresh plea over Donna Cleary murder
Murder squad detectives today urged taxi drivers who were in Coolock, north Dublin late on Saturday night when mother-of-one Donna Cleary was shot dead to come forward.
As one man remained in custody over the indiscriminate killing, gardai called on any drivers that may have dropped off or picked up fares at Adare Green between 1.30am and 2.45am to contact them.
And they also appealed for information about a silver car, carrying several people, which may have been in the area at the time.
The appeal came as detectives continued to question a sixth person over the 22-year-old’s murder.
She was shot while enjoying a party on Adare Green. A group of people were turned away from the 40th birthday celebrations and a short while later a gunman opened fire on the terraced house killing Ms Cleary.
The man, who is being held under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, surrendered himself to officers on Thursday evening.
Detectives had been hunting the man, who is believed to be in his 20s and from the Coolock area, since the shooting occurred but he had been missing from his home.
He contacted a solicitor and agreed to give himself up. Three men and a woman, who were arrested in Kildare 24 hours after Ms Cleary was murdered, were all released without charge.
The chief suspect in the murder, Dwayne Foster, collapsed in garda custody and died later in Beaumont Hospital.
Detectives urged anyone who may have any information to contact gardai at Coolock on 01 6664200.
