Expert group says bird flu preparations are adequate

The expert group set up by the Government to oversee efforts to combat a potential bird flu outbreak has concluded that Ireland's preparations for the eventuality are adequate at this time.

The conclusion was reached at the group's first meeting in Dublin yesterday, which was also attended by Agriculture Minister Mary Coughlan.
