Association seeks increased funding for adult education

The National Association of Adult Education (AONTAS) has called for at least 10% of the education budget to be spent on adult education.

Speaking ahead of the publication of the Government’s budget estimates tomorrow, the organisation said more funding was needed for schemes to improve adult education in disadvantaged areas.

It said further investment in the sector could help tackle many of Ireland's other social problems.
