Dept to probe water treatment practice
An extensive examination of how waste water is treated will help to determine spending and policy, the Department for the Environment said today.
The National Urban Waste Water Study will be launched by Environment Minister Dick Roche in Dublin later today.
The study analyses the national waste water infrastructure in each of 170 catchments in the 30 sanitary authorities covered by the report.
The Department for the Environment described the survey as a valuable assessment which would underpin the strategic development of national waste water infrastructure.
It aims to assist the evaluation of current strategies and support and help determine future priorities, policy and investment in waste water infrastructure.
