Man held over fatal stabbing taken to hospital
A man arrested following the fatal stabbing of a woman waiting for a taxi in the early hours of this morning has been taken to hospital, gardaí said.
The woman, 46, was attacked on Main Street, Naas, Co Kildare, shortly after midnight last night.
She was taken to Naas General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 1.35am, a Garda spokesman said.
Initial reports suggest the woman died of a stab wound, and a post mortem examination is due to take place later today.
A 49-year-old man was initially detained by gardaí under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act at Naas Garda Station, and has now been taken to Tallaght Hospital, the spokesman said.
