The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that a female Irish student in her 20s is one of the victims of this morning's explosion in Kusadasi, Turkey.

The Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed that a female Irish student in her 20s is one of the victims of this morning's explosion in Kusadasi, Turkey.

The young woman was one of four people so far known to have been killed in the suicide bomb attack on a minibus at the Kusadasi tourist resort.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
