Five people die on the roads in 24 hours
Five people have been killed in road collisions around the country since yesterday morning.
A 28-year-old man was killed yesterday morning in Co Waterford when he lost control of his motorcycle and collided with a wall.
The incident happened at 8.20am at Moonvoy, Tramore.
The dead man has been named as Declan O'Sullivan from Riverview, Tramore.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was removed to Waterford Regional Hospital.
There were no other vehicles involved in the accident.
In Co Donegal, a male pedestrian in his 60s was struck by a car at 11.40am yesterday at Racend, Coolboy, Kilmacrennan.
His body was removed to Letterkenny Hospital for Post Mortem on Monday.
A female back-seat passenger was fatally injured in a two car collision at 1pm yesterday afternoon at Carrickcarnan, Dromad, Co Louth.
The woman in her late 20s or early 30s was injured in the collision and was taken to Daisy Hill Hospital, Newry where she later died.
Two other occupants were also removed to Daisy Hill Hospital.
In Cappanrush, Ballyfin, Mountrath Co Laois a 40-year-old male motorcyclist was killed when his bike was in collision with a car.
The accident happened at 8 pm last night, he was removed to hospital but died shortly afterwards.
In the early hours of this morning a 19-year-old male back seat passenger was fatally injured when the car he was travelling in lost control and struck a pole.
The accident happened at Battery Road, Longford at 12.30am this morning.
His body was removed to Mullingar Hospital for post mortem.
There were seven people in the car, two others were seriously injured and are in Mullingar Hospital.
