Labour hoping to make major changes to Disability Bill

The Labour Party is hoping to make major changes to the Government's proposed Disability Bill in the Dáil today.

The legislation was drawn up following years of negotiations with groups working with the disabled.

However, many of these groups have expressed dissatisfaction with the bill, particularly its failure to introduce legally enforceable rights for the disabled.

Labour TD Kathleen Lynch is planning a move to introduce several amendments to the legislation in the Dáil today in an effort to address the concerns of these groups.
