Report into toddler’s death to be presented to Cabinet
A report into the death of a two-year-old Limerick girl following the cancellation of her planned heart operation is due to be discussed by the Cabinet later today.
Róisín Ruddle was scheduled to undergo heart surgery at Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in Dublin on June 30, 2003.
However, the procedure was cancelled due to a lack of intensive care nurses and the young girl died at her home in Limerick the following day.
The report, which has already been presented to Health Minister Mary Harney, is also due to be delivered to the Ruddle family today and is expected to be made public later this week.
