Giant burger pulls in cash for tsunami fund

Fast-food diner Eddie Rockets pulled in dozens of hungry punters today with a giant 8lb burger to raise €100,000 for the tsunamis disaster appeal.

Staff at the 1950s diner in Dublin city centre fried up Ireland’s biggest ever burger as part of nationwide fundraising efforts.

The eight pounder, equivalent to 32 Classic hamburgers, lured dozens of customers to the American themed food joint wanting to donate to the relief operation.

The fast-food chain promised to cover all of the day’s expenses including staff, food and drinks consumed at its 21 outlets around the country.

The €100,000 raised will be divided between the Irish Red Cross and GOAL.
