Antiques valued at €150,000 have been stolen from the Co Meath home of Lord Henry Mount Charles, it emerged tonight.

Antiques valued at €150,000 have been stolen from the Co Meath home of Lord Henry Mount Charles, it emerged tonight.

Valuable property including an 18ct gold rectangular vesta holder, marked 1855 and a gold snuff box dated 1762 were stolen from Beauparc House in Slane.

Lord Henry, who owns the historic Slane Castle, was inside at the time but it is believed the thieves stole guns from the gamekeepers lodge before entering the main house through the front door without being heard.

Also stolen were:

:: Chased engine – turned 18ct 2 coloured gold snuff box, dated 13/5/1831.

:: George 1V 18ct unmarked gold ring.

:: Rectangular gold snuff box.

:: Rectangular foliate engraved tin box, dated 1850.

:: Silver and enamel Garter badge.

:: 18ct ladies gold key wound pocket watch, dated 1850.

:: 2 Ivory coach passes, dated 1821.

:: George III silver gilt freedom box and cover dated 1799.

:: 18ct gold child’s rattle, dated 1825. Beauparc House is a protected building built circa 1750.

Anyone with information, or who saw anything suspicious in the area between 8pm and 9pm on Friday night, is asked to contact gardaí at Slane or Navan.
