Race to build Centre reduced to three

The race to win the contract to build a new National Conference Centre in Dublin has narrowed to three candidates, it was announced today.

Tourism Minister John O’Donoghue said three of the four candidates who submitted expressions of interest in the project had been shortlisted to proceed to the next stage of the contest.

“The process for the procurement of a National Conference Centre is, as one would expect for a project of this scale, necessarily complex,” he said.

Mr O’Donoghue said the four submissions received in response to the Office of Public Works’ advertisement for expressions of interest had undergone detailed evaluation and three shortlisted candidates had pre-qualified on the basis of financial and economic standing and technical capability. Each proposed an acceptable site.

The short-listed consortia are: Anna Livia Consortium, Michael McNamara & the Leopardstown Club Consortium and Spencer Dock International Conference Centre Consortium.
