Satellite network agreed at Dromoland summit
A major agreement on a civilian satellite network was signed this morning at the EU-US summit at Dromoland Castle, Co Clare.
The Galileo agreement will see 30 satellites for civilian use being launched, creating 150,000 jobs worldwide.
The summit has also discussed attempts to combat the spread of HIV/AIDS, which, the summit heard, is spreading at an alarming rate in Africa and Asia.
Much of the discussions have been focused on trade, and difficulties in the Middle East, but it has been overshadowed by the US position on Iraq.
