Trade unionists to march against racism in Belfast

About 6,000 trade unionists are to march in Belfast to demonstrate their opposition to racism.

The march, organised by the Northern Ireland Committee of ICTU, will be led by the President of the Belfast Islamic Centre, Jamal Iweida, and leading trade unionists.

PSNI figures show that in the first six weeks of the year, more than 320 racially-motivated incidents were reported in Northern Ireland.

Trade unions say they want to publicly show their opposition to these attacks by marching en masse in Belfast city centre.
