Omagh victims' rep to meet Garda Commissioner
A representative of the families of the Omagh bombing victims, Victor Barker, is to meet Garda Commissioner Noel Conroy in Dublin later today.
Mr Barker is expected to demand that the Gardaí hand over Real IRA informer Paddy Dixon to the PSNI for questioning, as part of a long-running campaign to secure a new investigation into all the events behind the 1998 atrocity.
Mr Dixon, a mole who worked as a car thief for the Real IRA, is alleged to have warned his garda handler in advance of the bombing.
His warning was reportedly passed on to senior gardaí but it is claimed no action was taken on foot of the information.
Twenty-nine people and two unborn children were killed in the bombings.
In December, the Minister for Justice, Michael McDowell played down allegations against the Gardaí.
