Construction workers march to Taoiseach's office
Around 500 construction workers have marched to the Taoiseach’s office in Dublin to highlight employers’ failure to comply with a mandatory pension scheme for the building trade.
Unions representing the workers have claimed that non-compliance with the scheme is widespread.
They want employers punished for failing to enrol their employees in the programme.
The unions delivered a letter to the Taoiseach today outlining their grievances.
SIPTU spokesman Paul Hansard said compliance with the pension scheme was running at less than 40% in Dublin.
