PSNI arrest four after €295,000 drug swoop

Four people were arrested after police seized drugs worth £200,000 (€295.000) in a planned swoop in Newry, Co Down, early today.

Two women and one man held in the drugs squad operation were from the Manchester area, while a second man was from Newry.

The operation took place at a house in the Edward Street area in the early hours of the morning.

Forty kilos of cannabis resin was discovered after two cars outside were searched by officers.

The vehicles were taken away for further examination.
