Taoiseach to meet Spanish PM

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, is due to meet Spanish Prime Minister Jose Maria Aznar today in his role as president of the European Council.

The two leaders are expected to discuss the proposed EU Constitution during the talks in Madrid.

Speaking yesterday, Mr Ahern said all his fellow heads of state would have to compromise if they wanted to reach agreement on the constitution.
