Gardaí continue interviewing girl in Cork

Gardaí in Cork are continuing to interview the 13-year-old girl who alleges she was raped in the city last night.

The girl was bowling with a 17 year-old friend in a Leisure Club in the city.

The pair left the club at 10.15pm when the 13-year-old claims she and her friend were attacked by a group of eight teenage boys and girls.

She says her 17-year-old friend ran after members of the group who stole her handbag and that she was raped when she was alone.

But gardaí believe any attack may not have happened on Little Hanover Street, as first reported.
