Security tightened ahead of EU meeting in Galway

Gardaí in Galway have mounted a major security operation ahead of a meeting of EU employment and social affairs ministers in the city later today.

Hundreds of extra Gardaí have been drafted in and a number of locations in the city cordoned off to prevent disruption of the meeting.
