Dundon to appeal in Kieran Keane murder case

Desmond Dundon, who was convicted yesterday of murdering Limerick man Kieran Keane, is planning to appeal the court’s decision at a higher court.

Mr Dundon is one of five Limerick men sentenced to life imprisonment for shooting dead 36-year-old Keane on January 29.

David Stanners, James McCarthy, Christopher Costelloe and Anthony McCarthy were also found guilty of the attempted murder of Owen Treacy, the state's main witness in the trial.

John Devane, solicitor for Desmond Dundon, believes the other men may also appeal as well.

"An appeal in a case like this is always considered by the defence teams. I’m sure that the other defence teams are also considering likewise."
