Car ploughs into Garda at checkpoint

A Garda was injured early today when he was dragged along a road by a stolen car which sped away from a checkpoint.

He suffered shoulder and leg injuries during the incident in the centre of Carrickmacross, Co Monaghan, said a Garda spokesman.
