The Green Party has called on the Central Bank to explain why it allowed financial institutions to advertising savings schemes which the Green Party says were clearly designed to help people avoid tax.

Party spokesman Dan Boyle said bank accounts which openly boasted confidentiality should have caught the attention of regulators in the Central Bank years ago.
