The Constituency Commission is recommending changes to electoral constituencies for next year's European elections.

The Constituency Commission is recommending changes to electoral constituencies for next year's European elections.

It says that Leinster and Munster should each lose a seat and that Co Clare should be transferred into Connacht-Ulster.

The Commission also says the four electoral regions should be known as Dublin, with four seats, East covering Leinster with three seats, South covering the redrawn Munster area with three seats.

It recommended that the redrawn Connacht-Ulster constituency would then become the "North-West" with three seats.
