Six people escaped injury in a gun attack on a house in Northern Ireland, it emerged today.

Six people escaped injury in a gun attack on a house in Northern Ireland, it emerged today.

The attack took place in the Frosses Road area of Ballymoney, Co Antrim, when a number of shots were fired at the property.

A man, woman and three children, the youngest of whom was 14, were in the house along with a family friend at the time.

The attack began shortly before 11.30pm yesterday when a ground floor window and a hall window were smashed by the shots. Police believe an iron bar was used to damage a third window.

A man from the nearby Dunloy area was arrested and questioned about the incident but has since been released.

Police do not believe that the attack was sectarian but are still investigating a motive.
