Tribunal defers decision on Lawlor cooperation

The Planning Tribunal has deferred until September a decision on whether to take legal against Liam Lawlor.

The tribunal said today that the former Fianna Fáil TD handed over 11,000 documents on Tuesday after being warned that he could be referred to the High Court for failing to cooperate with investigations into alleged planning corruption.

The tribunal today gave Mr Lawlor until September 5 to swear a follow-up affidavit and said it would decide whether to refer the matter to the High Court 11 days later.

It also said that it was considering referring the former Dublin west TD to the Director of Public Prosecutions due to discrepancies in his evidence in recent weeks.
