Gardaí arrest two after arms haul

Gardaí in Dublin have arrested two men and recovered three firearms and a quantity of ammunition, following an alert in the Dublin mountains at 6pm yesterday.

A sawn-off shot gun was later recovered in a follow up search in the Inchicore area of the city.

An off-duty member of the Gardaí is understood to have raised the alarm after observing suspicious activity involving two cars on Kilakee Road in Rathfarnham.
