McGuinness angry about Mallon comments on policing

Sinn Fein's Martin McGuinness is reacting angrily to remarks by former deputy first minister Seamus Mallon about Republicans attitude towards the North's Police Board.

Mr Mallon had suggested elections to a new assembly should be delayed until Sinn Fein agrees to back the board.

But these comments have provoked an angry response from McGuinness.

He said: "Seamus Mallon's suggestions that Sinn Fein's endorsement of the policing arrangements should be a precondition for the re-establishment of the institutions I think is a disgrace."
