Government advises against travel to Gulf

Irish citizens are being advised against non-essential travel to Jordan or Syria as the build-up towards war in Iraq continues.

The Department of foreign affairs said Irish people living in Jordan should register with the British embassy in Oman while anyone in Syria should register with the Irish consulate in Damascus.
