Greens seek to boost number of women TDs

The Green Party has called for the establishment of a quota for women TDs, saying similar experiments in Scandinavia have successfully increased female participation in politics.

Speaking at a press conference in Dublin, Green councillor Deirdre de Burca said her party is aware that all of its six TDs are male, but is working on plans to address the problem.
