Greens to discuss Government failures at annual conference

Green Party leader Trevor Sargent has said his members will highlight the false promises offered by the Government before the last general election.

The Green's annual conference begins in Ennis Co Clare today and will be discussing Government progress.

Deputy Sargent says many Irish people are living in crisis because of Government failures.

"What we're saying in the Green Party is if that you measure all those quality of life indicators that we asked to be put into the programme for Government before the last election, you will see very clearly that in terms of transport, housing and all the other issues, health particularly at the moment, that there are continuing disimprovements and there is a crisis in the lives of many people. We're drawing attention to that."
