Broadcaster Ryan Tubridy has confirmed rumours that he and his wife Dr Clare Kambamettu are expecting a baby together, almost a year after their wedding.
Media reports over the weekend suggested Kambamettu was pregnant with their first child together, citing sources close to the couple. On Sunday evening, Tubridy, 53, shared the good news on Instagram.
“Thank you for the kind and thoughtful well wishes about our impending arrival, they mean a lot,” he wrote in the caption of a smiling selfie with his wife.
“We’re beyond excited and looking forward to a very busy 2027…Onwards!”
It is understood the baby is due in the new year.
Well wishes poured in for the couple.
“Congratulations guys, delighted for you,” celebrity architect Dermot Bannon wrote, with actor Amy Huberman adding: “Huge congratulations to you both, so exciting!”

Tubridy and Kambamettu married in an intimate ceremony in Galway last December. Kambamettu, a former Rose of Tralee, met Tubridy when she was a guest on his RTÉ radio show in March 2023. They made their first public appearance as a couple at the Irish Post Awards in London in 2023, after the former Late Late Show host had left the national broadcaster.
Tubridy has two daughters, Ella and Julia, from his first marriage with Anne-Marie Power.
