NRA explains €8bn budget over-run

The National Roads Authority has told the Dáil's public accounts committee that the cost of road projects has increased significantly over the past four years due to unforeseen challenges.

NRA chief executive Michael Tobin said these challenges included delays due to environmental assessments and archaeological investigations.
