Taoiseach denies unequivocal US support

The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has denied media reports that the Government has agreed to support a US/British attack on Iraq - with or without UN or EU backing.

Responding to questions in the Dáil, Mr Ahern said the Government will not make any decision on the matter until the UN weapons inspectors present their final report to the Security Council on Friday.
