Gardai to enforce 30mph speed limit

Driving even one mile over the speed limit in 30mph zones will be penalised by gardai under new instructions issued to them.

Gardai, who had until now the discretion to penalise motorists as they saw fit, have had a previous order allowing 'enforcement thresholds' rescinded.
