Teacher shortage highligted in North
More than half of Northern Ireland schools say there are not enough high quality substitute teachers, according to a new Audit Office report.
John Dallat, a member of the Public Accounts Committee, which has ceased operating since the suspension of Stormont, said he was frustrated that the committee was unable to examine the report on the management of substitute cover for teachers.
“In light of this very important report, I would have liked to bring this issue to the top of the PAC’s agenda as it directly impacts on virtually every household in Northern Ireland.”
