Pro-agreement leaders to attend peace forum

Leaders from the majority of the North's pro-agreement political parties are expected to attend the Forum for Peace and Reconciliation in Dublin this afternoon.

Leaders from the majority of the North's pro-agreement political parties are expected to attend the Forum for Peace and Reconciliation in Dublin this afternoon.

The forum will meet for two hours, with the Taoiseach and the Tanaiste among those attending.

Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams, SDLP leader Mark Durkan and Monica McWilliams of the Women's Coalition are also due to attend, but UUP leader David Trimble, DUP leader Ian Paisley and David Ervine of the PUP will not be present.

Maurice Hayes, the chairman of the forum, has urged unionists to overcome their reservations and contribute to the body's work.
