Rabbitte on course to top Labour poll
Pat Rabbitte is on course to top the poll in the Labour Party's leadership election.
Leadership rival Brendan Howlin has conceded defeat in the Labour Party leadership election, paving the way for Deputy Rabbitte's appointment.
With one-third of the first preference votes counted, Mr Rabbitte has 44.1% of the ballot, with Brendan Howlin trailing on 30.6%.
Eamon Gilmore has 18.2% and Roisin Shorthall has 7.2%.
Meanwhile, Willie Penrose is leading the race for the deputy leadership with 33% of the vote. Liz McManus is just behind on 29%, with Joan Burton on 24% and Joe Costello on 12%.
The final result is due by 9pm.
