Soldier says Bloody Sunday notes were stolen
A former British soldier whose evidence is central to the Bloody Sunday Inquiry has told the tribunal that his personal diary notes of the events of January 30, 1972, were stolen by French transvestites.
Earlier today, the Saville Inquiry heard that the paratroopers, known as Solider 027, threatened to refuse to give evidence and collapse the inquiry if he wasn't given a lucrative protection package.
The former radio operative has already claimed that his colleagues opened fire without justification on Bloody Sunday, killing 13 unarmed civilians. As well as saying today that his diary notes were stolen by French transvestites on the Paris Metro, 027 also admitted that he flushed his field notebook down the toilet after details of it became public in 1975.
